In Loving Memory of
Myrtle Lavoie (née Mousseau)
September 13, 1930 to April 22, 2024
Rosen up the bow, shine up the tap shoes, and tune up the piano, because heaven is about to host an epic Mousseau Family Reunion as Myrtle, the last remaining member of the late Gédéon and Couranna Mousseau family joins her loved ones––sisters Eleanora, Cécile, Amy, Alfrida, Rachelle, Annette, Lily, Rita, Dolores and Thérėse, brother Alphėge, brother and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces who have gone before her. Also awaiting her with open arms are the love of her life Marcial Lavoie and their granddaughter Frances. Left behind to mourn the loss of an exceptional mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and a beautiful soul, are her children Denis (Rosa) Lavoie, Lynne (Roger) Arsenault, Suzanne (Alain) Gadoury, Marc (Lise) Lavoie, and Sylvie (Jocelyn) Girard, grandchildren Kevin, Melissa, Michel, Kory, Joel, Amy, Kyle, Eric and Patrick, great-grandchildren, Kirk, Ryan, Noah, Kaleb, Lincoln and Cullen, and all the nephews, nieces and close acquaintances who affectionately refer to her as “Matante Myrt”.
Family and music have been the very fabric of her life, and she generously gifted her time and talent through a lifetime of volunteer work. Her strong sense of community and volunteer spirit have touched many lives along the way. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
Words cannot express the depth of our gratitude to Dr. Bruno-Petrina and the entire staff who provided such outstanding care during her time at South Centennial Manor. Your kindness, compassion and thoughtfulness in caring for and supporting our mother will never be forgotten.
Visitations will be held at Irvine and Irvine Funeral Home, 641 deTroyes Avenue in Iroquois Falls on Sunday, April 28th, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sts-Martyrs-Canadiens church on Monday, April 29th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
If so desired, memorial donations to South Centennial Manor would be appreciated.
